Comment: My work is grounded in what is currently being called, Justice/Diversity/Equity/Inclusion. It has had many names over the last 30 years and has been here since the abolitionists and suffragists were working to make our country's highest ideals apply to all of us. We have come a long way.
What is your spouse/partner's name (if applicable) and their occupation?: Jeff Garcia Mathewson, retired carpenter
If you have grandchildren, how old are they?: Girl, 7 and a boy, 5.
What have you been up to since high school?: The bulk of my career was spent in the field of diversity, and serving migrant farmworkers. I was the director of the Opening Doors Diversity Project and the New York State Migrant Education Professional Development and Inclusion Resource Center. Each was half-time. I did this work for about 25 years.
The New York State Migrant Education Professional Development and Inclusion Resource Center served the Education Program centers throughout the state. We coordinated professional development for staff. Through Opening Doors I served universities nationally, non-profit agencies and school systems in New York state, and some government agencies. We served as consultants providing multi-year organizational development support aimed at creating inclusive organizations that meet their outcomes with the broad range of people in the community.
Prior to working in the field of diversity, I was a non-profit administrator for 5 years. The programs I managed served farm workers. We provided employment and training, emergency and support services and low-income housing. I also managed HIV/AIDS programming in two women's correctional facilities.
At the end of my career, I served for one year as Operations Manager for Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York. We provided health care and family services in 11 clinics across western New York. I also served for two and a half years as the Associate Director of Leadership and Civic Engagement and SUNY Brockport.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: I like gardening, hiking, being in the woods, sewing, working on all kinds of projects, and entertaining. I love throwing parties and cooking for people.

What have you been up to since high school?: Married for 37 years with 2 kids. Changed careers at age 35 from Microbiologist to Music Rducator/ Professional Singer! Best decision of my life.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: My husband and his have traveled to 24 countries and counting! We are foodies and patrons of the Arts and love living the Bucktown life!

What have you been up to since high school?: I went to ISU and got my BS in Medical Technology in 1985, I then specialized in microbiology in the hospital setting for 13 years before getting married, having 2 kids (Carly, 17 and Joel, 14) and then becoming licensed to teach an early childhood music program entitled Kindermusik. My program has been in the top 5% for students enrolled in the world (Kindermusik is enjoyed in 66 countries worldwide) for four years now. I sing professionally in just about every genre of music from choral classical, kid's music, rock and roll, and musical theatre. The biggest thrills in my career were being accepted to sing at Carnegie Hall(1999) and releasing my first solo CD (2005)of original and re-arranged children's music!
What are your current hobbies and interests?: Singing, downhill skiing, traveling, cooking, musical theatre, sampling ethnic foods and enjoying marriage and my two talented teenagers.

Comment: Let's make our 35th feel like we just graduated. Nobody's is too old to have fun, laugh, dance and raise a little hell! I may have a gray beard, but I have a young mind. Too often we justify why we can't do what we used to do, let's find reasons why we can feel young again and enjoy life and our 35th reunion!

What have you been up to since high school?: As of 2013, spend most of my time in Long Beach, CA as a Program Manager for a Logistics Software company. Previously, all over the place. College at Illinois Wesleyan University then on to Air Force 8 yrs Active duty, 12 in Reserves. Retired as a Major. Served in Korea, Okinawa, Pentagon and others. Logistics executive and consultant with a lot of companies throughout U.S. Canada and Asia-Pacific. I still have an a Real Estate Broker/Salesman in Las Vegas and still Love Vegas. Now have my my parents, brother and sister in Vegas too and they love it. Looking forward to our 35th.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: Never grow up. Watch or read Harry Potter every night. Try to get to Disneyland a few times a year. Get out and dance as often as possible. I plan on keeping a young mind never believe I am too old. Will continue to help others maintain a positive mental attitude and to Live Life, Love Live and BE LIFE!!!!

What have you been up to since high school?: Attended University of Iowa after high school for both undergrad and graduate school. Received my Masters in Nursing and a nurse practitioner degree. Have been working part time at our children's hospital in the pediatric pulmonary/cystic fibrosis clinic. After college worked and lived in downtown Chicago and moved to Des Moines after getting married to my husband who I met at U of Iowa. We have been married for 20years and have 2 kids; my son is a Freshman in HS and my daughter is in 6th grade. I keep very busy with their sports and activities.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: I enjoy golfing and swimming. I would still enjoy boating but there is no Lake Michigan here!! My family and I really enjoy traveling and getting together with family and friends.

What have you been up to since high school?: After HS, I attended U of IL at Champaign and graduated in Biochemistry. I then went to Medical School at U of I Chicago, followed by Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Loyola. I married my college sweetheart (Marion Boomer '80 WWHS) and we have been married 23 years and couldn't be happier to be able share our life's journey together! We opened Caring Medical & Rehabilitation Services in Oak Park, IL in 1993 and have been working there ever since. It's been a wonderful journey. We have written a number of health-related books and started a medical journal in 2009.





I have also completed 5 Ironman triathlons and a number of ultra long distance running and cycling events.





My wife and I love to travel and do "active vacations" - Italy was our favorite bike trip thus far (2007) and we hope to go again in 2010.





We have no kids, but have two new cats - Marmalade and Flupi. Our first "child" Squeaky passed away in 2009 from breast cancer, so that was very sad for us but we're recovering well with the new kittens.





There have been many other events along the way, but that's it in a nutshell.

What are your current hobbies and interests?: Triathlons, long distance running, cycling, swimming, hiking, snow shoe-ing, playing with my new kittens, spending time with my wife, traveling, writing, Bible reading/study, and of course, I still love injecting people with prolotherapy!

Moved to the Galesburg, Illinois area for 17 years until the Maytag Appliances manufacturing plant closed then we were transferred to the Amana,Iowa plant which Whirlpool has since purchased. We currently live in Coralville, Ia.

I have worked for the Walgreen Co. for 40 years; my current position is a Tax Manager.
I lost my husband of 30 years, Kermit, in March of 2022; We have one married daughter, Rachel (30).
I am working on this next chapter of my life, building a new normal. Starting the search for a companion/partner in crime. Traveling is still in my plans. I am looking for more adventures.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: I am a state executive board member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Illinois. Member of the Eastern Star - Libertyville. I have been trying to do some volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen and Food Pantries.
I enjoy riding my bike. I love being around water. I love a good Winery!!!
I love my losing Chicago Bears. I am currently a season ticket holder with my daughter for the Marquette Golden Eagles Men's Basketball. (We are Marquette).

What have you been up to since high school?: Married, had 2 beautiful children, divorced, moved to CA in 1994(this is my home), raised my kids, remarried 2005, have 2 grand-kids and a great husband.
What are your current hobbies and interests?: Travel (mostly day and weekend trips), sailing to Catalina, crocheting,creating terrariums, making jewelry and hanging out with my best friend(my husband).
